"Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Update: New Game Plus and More Added"
Team Ninja has rolled out an extensive update for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, now at version 1.0.7.0, introducing New Game Plus, Photo Mode, and various enhancements. This update, which fulfills earlier commitments to respond to player feedback, is now accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, as well as PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store.
New Game Plus allows players to embark on a fresh journey on any previously conquered difficulty level, retaining all weapons and Ninpo from their last playthrough. However, these items will reset to Level 1, and you cannot immediately escalate to a higher difficulty using this mode.
A notable quality-of-life improvement is the option to conceal the projectile weapon on the player's back. This can be toggled in the Options menu under Game Settings with the "Show Projectile Weapon" feature.
In terms of gameplay balance, Team Ninja has made adjustments to enemy Hit Points, reducing them in Chapters 8 and 11, while increasing the number of adversaries in Chapters 13 and 14. Additionally, some of Ayane's attacks now deal more damage.
The update also addresses several bugs, including control issues on high-performance PCs, controller vibration problems, out-of-bounds glitches, progression blockers, and crash issues during extended play. A detailed list of patch notes is provided below.
Ninja Gaiden Black 2, which was unexpectedly unveiled during the January Xbox Developer Direct, leverages the power of Unreal Engine 5 to enhance visuals, introduce new characters, and improve combat mechanics. In our 8/10 review, IGN praised the game as a "gorgeous improvement over its Sigma 2 release," despite some reservations about enemy numbers and health, affirming it as an outstanding action game.
