Palworld 0.5.0 Update: Crossplay, Blueprint Upgrades, Photo Mode Added

Author : Joseph Apr 21,2025

Palworld's latest update, v0.5.0, introduces crossplay functionality across all platforms, enhancing the gaming experience by allowing players to connect regardless of their chosen device. This monumental update also introduces the Global Palbox, enabling players to store and transfer their Pal data between different worlds effortlessly. The new Dimensional Pal Storage system offers a massive 10-fold increase in capacity compared to the standard Palbox, and it's versatile enough to serve as both a guild-accessible and a personal storage solution with customizable privacy settings.

In addition to storage enhancements, the update includes a cosmetic armor system, allowing players to alter their character's appearance without impacting their armor stats via the Antique Dresser. A new Photo Mode feature lets players capture the beauty of Palworld without UI distractions, accessible directly from the Pal Command Wheel. The Drafting Table introduces a way to upgrade blueprints by combining lower-rarity ones, adding depth to crafting. Dedicated servers are now available for Mac users, ensuring a smoother multiplayer experience.

Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an astounding 32 million players. Developer Pocketpair is not resting on its laurels, having outlined an extensive content roadmap for 2025, which includes an "ending scenario" and other exciting features. The game, which launched on Steam for $30 and was simultaneously available on Xbox and PC via Game Pass, shattered sales and concurrent player records. Pocketpair's CEO, Takuro Mizobe, admitted the overwhelming success and profits were challenging to manage initially. Capitalizing on this success, Pocketpair has partnered with Sony to establish Palworld Entertainment, aimed at expanding the IP and bringing the game to PlayStation 5.

However, not all news surrounding Palworld is celebratory. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have initiated legal action against Pocketpair, alleging patent infringement and seeking both an injunction and damages. Pocketpair has responded by adjusting certain gameplay mechanics, such as the way players summon Pals, and is prepared to defend its position in court.
