GSC Gameworld has detailed two major aspects of their upcoming updates: the Beta Mod SDK Kit and enhancements to the A-Life system. The Beta Mod SDK Kit will undergo a closed beta with mod makers to refine it before its public release. The developers are also keen on integrating Mod.io and Steam Workshop to streamline the modding process.

The A-Life system, crucial for the game's NPC AI and simulation, will receive further updates. Last year's 110 GB Christmas patch was a testament to their commitment to improving this feature. The upcoming updates will focus on "persistent A-Life improvements" and "smarter human combat; better cover/flanking use, limited grenades," promising a more immersive gameplay experience.

In addition to A-Life enhancements, mutants in the game will now exhibit more realistic behavior, such as eating corpses and reacting to threats. Other planned updates include the introduction of mutant loot, the ability to skip shader compilation, an increase in the player stash window size, support for wide screen aspect ratios, and the addition of two new unspecified weapons. The team is also focused on further stabilization and optimization of the game.

As a side note, fans of the original STALKER trilogy can look forward to a next-gen update, with more details to be revealed as the release date approaches.
