Surprise Marvel Rivals Hero Tops Stats

To enhance the gameplay experience and boost the popularity of underutilized characters like Storm and Black Widow, NetEase Games made significant balance adjustments to the heroes of Marvel Rivals as Season 1 kicked off in January. These updates have notably impacted the game's meta, reshaping player preferences and hero effectiveness.

Storm, in particular, has benefited immensely from these changes. According to Rivals Meta, her win rate now tops the charts, marking a significant leap from her previous standing on the hero selection list. In competitive mode, Storm boasts an impressive win percentage of over 56% and a pick rate that has surged to 16%. This is a stark contrast to her earlier days when her pick rate barely reached 1%. Storm has now surpassed well-known heroes like Adam Warlock, Jeff, Spider-Man, Hela, Hulk, Magic, Iron Man, and more in popularity and effectiveness.

Despite Storm's rise, the duo of Cloak and Dagger remains the most popular character pairing of the first season. However, their win percentage has dipped below 49%. On the other end of the spectrum, Black Widow continues to struggle, remaining the least sought-after and least successful character in the game.

Marvel Rivals is experiencing growth with hundreds of thousands of players engaging in both casual and competitive modes. Achieving the Grandmaster title, an exclusive accolade, is a feat only 0.1% of players can claim, even though the Celestial rank is available. Reaching such heights is challenging, yet one player has accomplished something truly remarkable. During the first season, this player reached Grandmaster without taking any damage across 108 games, focusing solely on healing teammates as Rocket Raccoon. They restored over 2.9 million health points and recorded nearly 3,500 assists, all while avoiding any knockouts.
