Since the days of Genetic Apex in Pokemon TCG Pocket, Metal-type Pokemon like Meltan and Melmetal have faced challenges. They experienced a minor revival during Mythical Island, but the introduction of Dialga Ex could mark a significant competitive resurgence for this archetype.
Dialga Ex enhances the deck's consistency, thanks to its Metallic Turbo ability, which allows you to attach two Metal Energy to your Benched Pokemon, accelerating the ramp-up to Melmetal.
Additionally, Mew Ex and Tauros serve as counters within this deck, also benefiting from Metallic Turbo. Both require only Colorless Energy for their attacks, enabling quicker setups while Dialga Ex is on the offensive.
Dialga Ex/Yanmega Ex Combo
- Dialga Ex x2
- Yanma x2
- Yanmega Ex x2
- Tauros
- Mew Ex
- Professor’s Research x2
- Poke Ball x2
- Pokemon Communication x2
- Giant Cape x2
- Dawn x2
- Leaf x2
Although I personally favor Yanmega Ex in a Grass-type deck alongside Exeggutor Ex, it synergizes well with Dialga Ex, particularly due to its Colorless Energy requirement. Yanmega Ex's Air Slash deals 120 damage, capable of knocking out many opponents in one hit. The drawback is the need to discard an Energy, but Dialga Ex can swiftly replenish it.
It's important to note that Dialga Ex's Metallic Turbo ability makes it a versatile addition to any Colorless deck. While Yanmega Ex may be its most effective partner, exploring combinations with other strong Colorless decks like Pidgeot or Pidgeot Ex could yield promising results.
These are the most effective Dialga Ex decks to start with in Pokemon TCG Pocket. For more tips and detailed game information, be sure to check out The Escapist.
