How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
In Hollow Era, you start as a Soul Spirit. To become a Shinigami, or Soul Reaper, you must accept the initial quest from an NPC named Hurt Shinigami. She's calling for help, and once you commit to the Shinigami path, there's no going back—you can't switch to a Hollow unless you later become a Visored. For those interested in the Hollow route, check out our separate Hollow progression guide.
During the Shinigami/Hollow selection, you must act quickly. To become a Hollow, simply break your chain. To remain a Shinigami, be aware that your chain will slowly break over time regardless of your actions. Every two minutes, a section of the chain will break, and if you let it break completely, you'll automatically turn into a Hollow. In such a case, our resurrection moves lists will be essential for your Hollow endgame.
Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your first Shinigami quest involves purifying 6 Lost Souls, a duty to maintain the balance between life and death. After completing this, head to the NPC near Hurt Shinigami to pick up a quest to deliver a letter to a Doctor friend near the hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with your powers. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random sword of power from the Urakara shop. If funds allow, use the bus stop for $200 as a teleport/fast travel option, as the map is expansive and involves a lot of running. Alternatively, you can buy infinite fast travel in the Robux Shop for 149 Robux.
Subsequent quests continue, marked with a red crosshair. You'll need to defeat one Hollow, then five Corrupted Shinigamis, and engage in various tasks until you reach level 15. Quests are categorized into repeatable, progression, and path-specific quests, such as Vizard and Airwalk.
Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
To maximize your Shinigami Reiatsu, strategic skill point allocation is crucial. The Reiastu Skill Tree offers powerful Kido abilities exclusive to Shinigami characters.
Kido and Reiatsu Nodes enhance your damage and Reiatsu output, respectively. Here are some notable Kido abilities:
- Caja Negacion: Shoots a beam of lightning from your finger. When combined with Electric, it spreads to nearby targets.
- Shakkaho: Generates a red energy ball that explodes on impact. With Ragdoll, it can knock back opponents, and with Fire, it sets them ablaze.
- Chain Bind: Summons energy chains to pull enemies towards you.
- Prison of Light: Immobilizes enemies with six light rods, ideal for agile foes.
- Thunder Sear: A slow-moving lightning ball that deals electric damage and explodes upon contact, perfect for crowd control.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
To obtain Shikai in Hollow Era, reach level 15 and visit Urihiro to start the Shikai Training quest. You'll need to defeat Urahara Kisuke to gain 1,700 exp and unlock Shikai powers.
Warning: Facing Kisuke at level 15 can be challenging without a well-optimized character. If needed, continue grinding until level 25 or higher before attempting this quest.
Using Shikai
Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random mighty ability. If unsatisfied with the power, you can re-roll it at Urahara Shop for cash.
Shikai is activated using the Rage Bar, which fills with damage taken or dealt. Press Y (default keybind) to activate Shikai when the bar is full, and it will end when your Reiatsu is depleted or you release the key.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Your Shikai Mastery Level increases with earned Mastery Points from using Shikai skills. Higher Mastery Levels reduce Rage consumption and grant various aura effects and visual enhancements.
- Mastery Level 1: 1-149 Points. Grants Transparent Aura.
- Mastery Level 2: 150-299 Points. Grants a brighter aura with particles.
- Mastery Level 3: 300-499 Points. Grants a Lightning boost.
- Mastery Level 4: 500+ Points. Grants a zone of flying stones around you.
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
Once you choose the Shinigami path, you can't switch to Hollow, but becoming a Visored allows you to break the barrier between Shinigami and Hollow using a Hollow Mask. To unlock the Vizard fighting style, reach level 50 and head to the Vizard’s Warehouse to start the quest.
To become a Visored, you'll need the Hogyoku, which you can obtain by defeating the King of Hueco Mundo, though the drop rate is only 1%. This is just the first step toward mastering the Visored path.
Hollow Era Visored Mastering
As a Visored, you gain Mask Control to reduce the chance of Hollow control, and the Visored node extends your mask-wearing time, boosting your damage output with Hollow powers.
Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
- Hollow Mask: Allows you to control your inner Hollow on command.
- Cero: Charges a beam of Reiatsu for significant damage.
- Final Cero: Pins down enemies and crushes them with a powerful Cero.
- Vasto Rage: Temporarily transforms you into the mightiest Hollow type.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
Currently, Bankai is not available in Hollow Era. Future updates may introduce it, but no release date has been confirmed.
Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
