In Vino Veritas: Completing the Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Some side quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can be quite enjoyable, while others might leave you scratching your head or feeling frustrated. The quest "In Vino Veritas" is a prime example, with its intricate steps and nested side quests that require careful attention to detail.

Speak with Casper and Havel

To kick off "In Vino Veritas," you'll first encounter Casper Rudolf by his drink cart on the east side of Kuttenberg City. Just enter through the east gate and walk straight ahead to bump into him. Casper's curious about the secret behind the monks' exquisite wine, but uncovering this mystery involves several steps. Make sure to exhaust all dialogue options with him to gather information about Havel and the book he left with Adleta. This knowledge will help you decide how to impress Havel in the first part of the quest.

If you decide to retrieve the book from Adleta, head to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall during the morning or afternoon. You'll find an open garden where Adleta often hangs out. Before you go, pick up five Marigolds. Arrive before her brother, Hugo, or speak with him to get his permission to talk to Adleta. During your conversation, be kind and explain that you need the book for Casper. You can either pass a skill check to persuade her or offer the Marigolds as a gift to secure the book. Once you have it, read it from your inventory.

Alternatively, you can skip retrieving the book and go directly to Havel at his inn in Kuttenberg City. Ensure your Charisma is at least 18 by wearing the right outfit and sharpening your drinking skills. When you speak to Havel, choose these dialogue options:

• Germany. Let’s do it.
• That’s a very fine gift.
• Steinberger.
• It’s missing ginger.

These choices will impress Havel, who will then share the monastery's secret ingredient with you. Return to Casper with this information.

Next, head to the vineyard north of Kuttenberg and talk to the recruiter to start the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest. Although you don't need to finish this quest, starting it allows you to roam the vineyard without being seen as a trespasser. Inside, find Jerome, usually sitting on a bench by the main building.

Once inside the main building, sneak to the left and enter the storeroom. Use your lockpicking skills to open the chests and find the Sulphur Wicks, which Casper needs. For some extra Groschen, grab five seedlings from the garden behind the main building before you leave.

If you want to complete "Under the Straw Hat," engage in tasks like clearing plants around the vines and moving sacks. Once you've done enough work, report to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn some Groschen. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and seedlings, if you collected them.

Completing "In Vino Veritas" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* allows you to move on to other quests or spend time collecting badges and dice for a different kind of adventure.
