Ys Memoire Guide: Conquer Gyalva in Felghana
Conquering Gyalva in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana progressively introduces challenging bosses, enhancing gameplay mechanics understanding. While not excessively long, the game offers a satisfying number of boss encounters. Gyalva, Lord of the Blazing Prison, requires a solid grasp of combat, abilities, and game mechanics.
Defeating Gyalva: A Strategic Approach
- Boss Location: Zone of Lava, the Escapeless Abyss
- Boss Health (Normal): 1200 HP
Following Guilen's defeat, players navigate the Zone of Lava to face Gyalva. The key strategy is fighting from either bridge end. Movement is severely restricted, with the bridge constantly disrupted by Gyalva's attacks. The tactic involves repeatedly jumping to engage Gyalva, utilizing wind magic for maximum damage output within limited timeframes. Mastering this fight showcases the rewarding challenge inherent in the Ys franchise.
Understanding Gyalva's Attacks
Gyalva, a unique boss not present in the original Ys III, possesses diverse attacks. While the fight's core mechanics are straightforward, Gyalva's rapid damage output demands preparedness. Gyalva moves across the bridge, launching fiery attacks that dislodge bridge sections. Adequate character upgrades (aim for level 21 and enhanced equipment) are highly recommended.
Spinning Attacks (Two Variations)
Gyalva employs two spinning attacks: a localized attack targeting a bridge section, and a full-bridge sweep. Both inflict significant damage if the player is under-leveled.
- Localized Spin: Evade by moving to either side of the affected area.
- Full-Bridge Spin: Seek refuge on either bridge ledge. Avoid the very edge to prevent cornering.
The strategy involves strategically moving along the bridge to attack Gyalva before retreating to a safe ledge.
Fire Blast
Gyalva launches fireballs, launching bridge sections skyward. While damaging, this attack creates an opportunity to land several hits on Gyalva.
Bursting Torches
Torches along the bridge periodically erupt in flames, accompanied by fireball transfers. These unpredictable bursts inflict damage; wait for the bursts to subside before moving.
