Disco Elysium Mobile Version Launched: ZA/UM Targets TikTok Audience
Hot on the heels of its announcement of new game Project C4, ZA/UM has unveiled an exciting new venture: an official mobile version of the critically acclaimed Disco Elysium, exclusively for Android devices. The studio's aim is to introduce the game to new audiences while providing a convenient, on-the-go alternative for existing fans. To achieve this, ZA/UM will offer the first two chapters of Disco Elysium for free, allowing players to dive into the experience without any upfront cost. For those who wish to continue their journey, a single payment will unlock the full game, ensuring an ad-free, uninterrupted adventure.
ZA/UM emphasized the importance of informed decision-making for potential buyers, stating, "Today's ZA/UM studio is comprised of both creators and custodians of the Disco Elysium IP. We take both of those roles very seriously and we believe that is evident in the Disco Elysium mobile experience we are creating." This commitment to quality and player satisfaction is at the heart of their approach to the mobile adaptation.

Studio head Denis Havel took the vision a step further, expressing a desire to engage the TikTok audience with Disco Elysium on mobile. "We intend to captivate the TikTok user with quick hits of compelling story, art, and audio, ultimately creating an all new, deeply engaging form of entertainment," Havel explained. This approach underscores the game's adaptation to modern mobile gaming habits, focusing on short, impactful sessions.
Alongside the announcement, ZA/UM released a debut trailer and screenshots, showcasing new, immersive 360-degree scenes designed to place players right in the heart of Revachol. The mobile version also features brand-new audio with full voiceover, enhancing the already rich character development and narrative depth of the game.
The official description of the mobile version highlights its re-imagination as a psychological RPG, optimized for today's mobile users. "This story-rich adventure has been optimized for short play sessions, allowing players to dive in anytime, anyplace on their mobile devices," the blurb states. Narrative Lead Chris Priestman likened the mobile experience to "what audiobooks wish they were," designed for engaging, bite-sized gameplay.
Disco Elysium is set to launch on mobile via Google Android in the summer of 2025. It's important to note, however, that while the studio retains the same name, many key contributors to the original game have since departed ZA/UM. Some of these former members are now working on spiritual successors, marking a significant shift in the studio's composition since the game's initial release.
