GTA 6 Expected to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5's Michael De Santa (Ned Luke) offers fans reassurance about GTA 6's worthiness, predicting staggering sales figures. Discover more about the anticipated game and its development.
Rockstar Games' Unexpected GTA 6 Strategy
GTA 5 Actor Predicts $1.3 Billion Day-One Revenue for GTA 6
Ned Luke, the voice behind GTA 5's Michael De Santa, boldly predicts a $1.3 billion day-one revenue for GTA 6. In a Fall Damage YouTube interview, Luke expressed his confidence in the game's success, highlighting Rockstar Games' unpredictable nature as a key factor.
Luke emphasized patience, assuring fans, "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He referenced GTA 5's impressive $800 million in its first 24 hours back in 2013, suggesting GTA 6 will significantly surpass that milestone.
Market research firm DFC Intelligence projects GTA 6 to sell over 40 million copies, generating $3.2 billion in its first year, with a billion dollars attributed solely to pre-orders.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?
Luke also shared insights on the potential return of GTA 5 characters in GTA Online and possibly GTA 6. He pointed out Michael's absence from GTA Online since its launch, contrasting with Trevor and Franklin's appearances.
Luke hinted at Michael's possible inclusion in a speculated final GTA Online DLC or even a role in GTA 6. Steven Ogg (Trevor in GTA 5) previously suggested (ScreenRant, January 2025) an intriguing scenario where Trevor's early demise could symbolize a passing of the torch.
Luke cautiously stated, "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not." He acknowledged Rockstar's tight-lipped approach and the potential repercussions of revealing too much. Despite both actors' enthusiasm, official confirmation remains pending.
GTA 6: In the Testing Phase?
Former Rockstar Games animator Mike York (GamesRadar, citing a deleted Kiwi Talkz interview) suggests GTA 6 is undergoing internal testing. He highlighted the game's unique unpredictability as a defining characteristic of its open-world design.
York believes the game is likely in its internal testing phase, with ongoing refinements and additions. He suggests the game is at least playable at this stage, with numerous internal testers potentially having completed playthroughs.
Rockstar Games unveiled a GTA 6 trailer in December 2023, but subsequent details have been scarce. While a Fall 2025 release was previously reported (Take-Two Interactive's 2024 Financial Report), no official release date has been announced.
