Marvel Rivals Unveils Season 1 Balance Update
Marvel Rivals Season 1: Dracula, Fantastic Four, and Major Balance Changes
Marvel Rivals' Season 1, "Eternal Night Falls," launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, promises a significant update with Dracula as the primary antagonist and the addition of the Fantastic Four. The season will introduce three new maps, a new game mode ("Doom Match"), and a battle pass featuring 10 skins for $10 (990 Lattice). Players completing the battle pass will earn 600 Lattice and 600 Units. Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman debut at launch, followed by Human Torch and The Thing six to seven weeks later.
A recent developer update detailed substantial balance adjustments. Hela and Hawkeye, deemed overpowered in Season 0, will receive nerfs. Conversely, mobility-focused Vanguards like Captain America and Venom will receive buffs to improve their battlefield performance.
Further balance changes include buffs for Wolverine and Storm, encouraging more strategic use of these mutants. Cloak and Dagger also receive enhancements to broaden their team compatibility. Jeff the Land Shark's early warning indicators will be adjusted to better reflect his ultimate's hitbox, though no major changes to his ultimate ability are planned.
While NetEase Games remained silent on adjustments to the Seasonal Bonus feature – a point of contention among players – Season 1 is poised to deliver a wealth of new content and gameplay refinements. The anticipated changes to character balance, coupled with the introduction of new maps, game modes, and characters, are generating significant player excitement for the season's launch.
