The Simpsons: Tapped Out Is About To Tap Out As EA Is Shutting It Down
EA's The Simpsons: Tapped Out is shutting down after a 12-year run. This beloved city-building mobile game, released in 2012 (iOS) and 2013 (Android), will be unavailable for download starting October 31st, 2024. Servers will finally go offline on January 24th, 2025. In-app purchases are already disabled.
The End of an Era
EA expressed gratitude to players in their sunset announcement, acknowledging the over-decade-long partnership with The Simpsons and The Walt Disney Company that allowed fans to create their own Springfield.
One Last Chance to Play?
If you haven't experienced the game, now's your chance! In The Simpsons: Tapped Out, you rebuild Springfield after Homer's disastrous nuclear meltdown. Manage iconic characters, from the Simpsons family to Fat Tony, customize Springfield to your liking, expand to Springfield Heights, and even run Apu's Kwik-E-Mart.
This freemium game regularly featured updates based on the show and real-world events. Donuts are the in-game currency driving progression.
