Turtle Beach Cuts Ties with Gaming Icon

Following recent allegations surrounding his 2020 Twitch ban, Turtle Beach has severed its partnership with Dr Disrespect. The gaming accessory company had a long-standing relationship with the streamer, including a collaborative headset.

The controversy reignited after former Twitch employee Cody Conners alleged Dr Disrespect engaged in inappropriate conduct with a minor via Twitch's Whispers feature. These claims prompted several partners to re-evaluate their relationships.

Turtle Beach confirmed to IGN the termination of its partnership, ending a multi-year deal signed in 2020 to sponsor its ROCCAT brand. This followed the release of a Dr Disrespect-themed headset and sponsorship of several of his streams. His merchandise has since been removed from Turtle Beach's website.

This isn't Dr Disrespect's only recent setback. Midnight Society, a game studio he co-founded, also ended its association with him earlier this week. While initially believing in his innocence, Midnight Society ultimately decided to part ways.

Dr Disrespect denies the allegations, claiming no wrongdoing and asserting the matter was resolved with Twitch in 2020. He's also announced a break from streaming, potentially extending a pre-planned vacation in light of the current situation. His future plans remain unclear.
