The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025 concluded this past weekend with an exciting finale, crowning team Yangon Galacticos as the champions. Their victory was secured through an impressive points lead, earning them the lion's share of the $20,000 prize pool provided by PUBG.

This prestigious tournament unfolded on PUBG's latest and largest map to date, Rondo. The map hosted 16 teams who earned their spots through various qualifying tournaments, including D'Xavier at PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers at PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE at PMSL CSA Fall.

Yangon Galacticos' triumph came under the new SMASH format rules introduced at the PMRC Rondo Cup. According to these rules, a team needed to accumulate over 30 points and secure a victory in a separate match to claim the title. However, after six matches, no team achieved this, leading to Yangon Galacticos' win due to their substantial points lead.

HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports secured second and third places, respectively, affirming the Rondo Cup's success and highlighting PUBG Mobile's growing esports ambitions since 2024. Interestingly, the inaugural tournament to introduce the SMASH rule did not see a winner via this method, sparking curiosity about its future use. Whether the SMASH format will return in upcoming tournaments depends on the organizers and its potential to enhance competitive and engaging gameplay.
