Card Golf

This is an exciting card game simulation inspired by the mechanics of golf. Played with a standard 52-card deck plus two Jokers, the game offers a unique blend of strategy and luck. Each player starts with six cards face down, dealt from the shuffled deck. The remaining cards form the stock pile, with the top card flipped to begin the discard pile next to it.

The goal is simple yet challenging: players aim to minimize the total value of their cards by strategically swapping or discarding them over a series of rounds—referred to as "holes." A full game consists of nine rounds, mirroring the structure of a real golf match. At the end of the nine holes, the player with the lowest cumulative score is declared the winner.

How to Play

The gameplay begins with the player seated to the left of the dealer and proceeds clockwise. On each turn, a player draws one card from either the stock or the discard pile. After drawing, the player has two options:

• Swap the drawn card with one of their six face-down cards (the swapped card remains face-up), or
• Discard the drawn card, ending their turn.

Once all of a player's cards are face-up, the round concludes. Players still holding face-down cards must reveal them and calculate their scores for that round.

Card Values

Each card contributes a specific point value to your score:

• Joker: -2 points
• Ace: 1 point
• King: 0 points
• Queen & Jack: 10 points each
• All other cards: Face value

Strategic use of Jokers can significantly reduce your score, making them highly valuable during gameplay.

Scoring Strategy

The key to success lies in minimizing your total points across all nine rounds. Players must decide whether to hold onto cards, swap wisely, or discard when necessary. Forming pairs or matching ranks can help control risk, but ultimately, the focus is on reducing the overall value of your hand at the end of each round.
