Intergalactic, new Neil Druckmann game, will be about religion and solitude
The gaming community buzzed with excitement and curiosity following the announcement of Neil Druckmann's latest project, *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*. Recently, Druckmann unveiled the first details about the game's setting during his appearance on the *Creator to Creator* show.
*Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet* unfolds in an alternate future, diverging from our reality starting in the late 1980s. At the heart of this universe lies a new religion that emerges and eventually dominates the galaxy. Naughty Dog has meticulously crafted the lore of this religion over several years, detailing its journey from the emergence of its first prophet to its subsequent evolutions and distortions.
The narrative is centered on a single planet where this religion originates and spreads, eventually isolating itself from the rest of the galaxy. The protagonist of the game crash-lands on this planet, finding herself utterly alone. This isolation is a core theme of the game, as Druckmann explains. Unlike previous Naughty Dog titles where players often had a companion for guidance, in *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*, players will need to navigate and survive the challenges of the planet solo, piecing together the means to escape on their own.
Despite being in development for four years, *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet* still has no confirmed release date. Fans and followers of Naughty Dog will need to stay tuned for future updates as the anticipation builds for this intriguing new title.
