Sunday School Lessons

This educational app offers a comprehensive and engaging approach to evangelism and foundational Bible teaching, based on the Sunday School Lessons published by the AIC Sunday School Committee in Juba, Southern Sudan. It has been thoughtfully adapted for general use by Global Recordings Network Australia, with permission from the Africa Inland Church, Sudan.

Designed for use alongside audio visual picture books available from Global Recordings Network, these lessons are structured to support effective teaching, especially for those new to leading Sunday School classes. The visual elements play a central role in helping children better understand and connect with each story.

Lesson Structure and Use

Each lesson is designed to fit within a [ttpp]twenty-minute timeframe, focusing specifically on the core teaching segment of Sunday School. The remaining time—typically used for singing, prayer, Bible reading, quizzes, and other activities—is left to the teacher’s discretion. We encourage ending each session with a short, relevant prayer and song tied to that week’s lesson. These materials are tailored for children aged between 7 and 12, offering age-appropriate content with clear spiritual insights.

When initially tested, teachers manually wrote out each lesson in an exercise book on a weekly basis. As a result, the lessons were intentionally kept brief. While some have since been expanded, the overall goal remains to provide a concise yet meaningful outline that teachers can build upon during their personal preparation.

Teaching Focus

Each lesson clearly states its objective at the top, guiding the teacher toward the main truth or message to be conveyed. Given the wide age range and the depth of biblical truths, each lesson focuses on one or two key ideas rather than attempting to teach everything about God at once. This allows children to grow in understanding gradually over time.

Please note: These lessons are not intended to be read verbatim to the class. Rather, they serve as a helpful guide—a “walking stick” for the teacher—not a crutch or script to follow word for word.
